I hate probability

Events A and B are independent. P(A) = P(B) = 1/4. What is P(A ∪ B)?
1) First, find the P(AB).
P(AB) = P(A) x P(B)
P(AB) = 1/4 x 1/4 = 1/16
2) Now that we know what the intersection is, we can find P(A ∪ B).
P(A ∪ B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(AB)
P(A ∪ B) = 1/4 + 1/4 - 1/16 = 7/16
 The Answer:
P(A ∪ B) = 7/16
