Well, that's it for me- at least for the foreseeable future. My run on KTUH was a good one, in my humble opinion. I tried to focus on post rock and noise, but I also kept it fairly organic. I let my mood lead the way and shows could vary considerably in theme and content from week to week. This week I laid it on heavy with math rock, post rock, and instrumental extravaganzas galore. Instead of doing some sort of "best of" edition to close out my show I decided to hunt down some molto primo kick ass tracks that I've never played before. In the end, it all worked out well and the playlist was pretty cohesive. I was a little worried that it wouldn't that great on the air, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I am honored and privileged to have been a DJ on KTUH Honolulu. It really was a dream come true to be able to become a part of the KTUH ohana and have my own show! Back when I was in the Army driving around aimlessly through the dark of the night in my military police patrol car I would always listen to KTUH, but I never thought I'd actually go on to become a part of the station. I have a long history with college radio, bot as a listener and staff member. Growing up in Massachusetts I would scour the lower bands of the FM dial trying to find something new to listen to on stations that I had to struggle to get to come in. I was exposed to so much good music from around the world that I never would have heard if it wasn't for college radio and independent radio. With the shows that I've done on WJUL (now WUML), WMUA, and KTUH I've made it a point to play the broadest variety of music from all around to help expose listeners to some far out sounds that may change their lives the way that my early experience with independent music helped to pique my interests and shape my imagination. If I managed to rock one person's socks off and get them drooling over one or two juicy tracks then I consider my mission accomplished.
My show, Post Nothing, will be NOT back on the air next Tuesday from 9PM-Midnight, on KTUH Honolulu, 90.3 FM ktuh.org live stream 24/7. That's it This is the last edition. The grand finale. Basta cosi.
Aloha KTUH, I'll see you later...unless I run away and join the French Foreign Legion...
You can download the show in its entirety here: hxxp://www.mediafire.com/?xc2poj8dz40makj (change xx to tt to download or cut and paste the link without that mess.) It's one long mp3 file of awesomeness.
